Spring City Depot & History Museum
The rail-era depot that tells the town's story.
Spring City grew up around the railroad in the 1870s, and the depot on Front Street is the surviving centerpiece of that era. Today it houses the town's history museum, with exhibits on the rail years, the sulphur-springs resort days, and the TVA era that put the original townsite under Watts Bar Lake.
Trains still run the line past the platform, which makes the depot porch a favorite railfan perch. It anchors the walkable strip of Front Street, with the theater, shops, and cafes within two blocks.
